The habit of writing a diary was established by my homeroom teacher when I was in the first grade of elementary school.
日記を書く習慣は、小学校一年生の時の担任の先生がつけた。
The teacher put a nickname of our class. Our class was number 5. The first grade is 1. 1 is ichi in Japanese. 5 is go in Japanese. 1 and 5 is ichigo. He named our class Ichigo. And, Ichigo is strawberry in Japanese.
先生は、クラスにあだ名をつけた。1年5組だったから、１と５でいちご。いちごは英語でストリベリーです。
He made the strawberry newspaper every day. And he forced us to keep a diary every day.
彼は毎日いちご新聞を作った。そして、我々にも、毎日日記を付けることを強要したのだ。
He also demanded us to draw pictures for publication in the newspaper.
彼は新聞に載せるための絵も我々に要求した。
Since then, writing and drawing have always been with me.
それ以来、書くことと、描くことがいつも私と一緒にいます。
